THE operatives of the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) yesterday, seized trailer loaded with fake and counterfeit pharmaceutical products inside a warehouse at iddo, Oyingbo, Lagos.

The warehouse allegedly belonged to one Okwudili.

Addressing newsmen, the acting Director General, Mrs. Yetunde Oni, said following intelligence report, and surveillance mounted at iddo Motor Park by operatives of investigation and Enforcement Directorate, the agency intercepted a kano bound trailer loaded with counterfeit pharmaceutical products.

She said the truck contained motor spare parts and general goods. The counterfeit pharmaceutical products are Dr Kelly Extra (paracetamol Diclofenac and Caffeine Tablets 325mg 50mg 30mg) and Chorophenamine maleate 4mg.

In addition, she explained that chemical product, Toluene disocyanate 80/20 (TDI), regulated and controlled that could be used as a precursor in the manufacture of illicit drugs and as a chemical weapon by terrorists because of its volatile nature were also found in the trailer.
